Before we get into anything else, I think you should tell us: what is art?

Art is finding something you appreciate about the world and sharing that with others.

Your artwork has a very vibrant, psychedelic style. What were some of the inspirations for this collection?

The construct of time, micro/macrocosmic relationships, dreamscapes, the interconnectedness of all things.

What are you hoping the audience will see in this collection?

I'm hoping they take in a sense of integration. A feeling that everything is just a different manifestation of the same underlying energy current.

Why did you choose to work with acrylics?

I like to work with all mediums. To me it doesn't matter so much what goes in to the piece, but what comes out.

Tell us about the first time you became aware of your identity as an artist. Was it sparked by a particular experience?

I suppose it was when I was 19, and started painting on my own, without an art class assignment to spur my creativity. It was really very therapeutic, and some very interesting things came out.

What is your preferred style of beer (Wits, Pales, Ales, Stouts, etc)?

I enjoy all beer! But my favorites are lagers and wheats I guess, and pales as long as they're not too hoppy.

Our savory microbrews go perfectly with a good conversation. If you could share a round with anyone- from the past, present, or future- who would it be? Why?

Hmm, so many to choose. I guess I'd say Nicola Tesla. I'm really interested in his work with electromagnetism right now and I'd love to hear his ideas about free energy.

You live in California, and I understand this will be your first time visiting Texas; what about San Antonio are you looking forward to the most?

Everything. I've never been and am anxious to experience the vibe; the art, music, the color of the light, and especially the people.

Leave us with the last word:

The power of love WILL overcome the love of power.
