THE PRIMETIME JAZZ ORCHESTRA, is one of San Antonios' "hottest" big bands.
PTJO has been a favorite at the Texas Jazz Festival, IN Corpus Christi for two consecutive
years (2004 and 2005), and the St. Mary's University Jazz Festival. In addition to it's
regular 4th Tuesday appearance at the Blue Star Brewery, it appears weekly
at the Radius Cafe and Art Space.
Organizer and director of the PTJO, JOHN MAGALDI has been a
professional musician all of his adult life. In addition to being a master
saxophonist (tenor, alto, bari, and soprano), he also doubles on clarinet,
bass clarinet, flute and piccolo. Over the years he's played many different
venues from coast to coast and beyond. These include theaters, night clubs,
jazz festivals and cruise ships as well as tours with big bands and nationally
acclaimed acts.
In addition, John is a featured soloist with the "Sentimental Journey Orchestra",
the "Crimson Jazz Orchestra", and the "Regency Jazz Quintet". He is also a
regular performer at Jim Cullums' "Landing" on the Riverwalk
as well as many other venues around Austin and San Antonio.
"Live music and jazz lives here in south Texas - The Music Business is Great"!!!!!
